31 - 2 Polish Days - As the Polish Capital of Nebraska, Loup City makes their tribute by celebrating Polish Days each year. This celebration takes place the first weekend in June and draws in crowds from all over. Polish Days has a lot to offer people of all ages. Some of the events you will experience are the parade, polka dances, the carnival, melodrama, polish dinner, co-ed sand volleyball, kiddie tractor pull and disc golf.

29 Loub City City Wide Garage Sales - The Loup City Garage Sales will be held at 8:00 a.m. until the individual seller's decision to close. In addition to the Garage Sales, there will be Farmer's Market and a Flea Market at the Sherman County Courthouse.

4 Fireworks over Sherman Lake - The day starts with City Wide Garage Sales (some actually will start on Friday). Then at 4:00pm things really get going, the gates open for the C4 Concert at the Sherman County Fair Grounds. The Central Classic Country Concert begins at 6:30 pm and is featuring John King, Prodigal Son and the Shelia Greenland Band. Loup City Fire and Rescue will be sponsoring a fund raising meal ahead of the concert. There will be a fireworks display following the concert.

12 - 17 Sherman County Fair - At the end of July you can attend the Sherman County Fair. You can enjoy free Bar-B-Que, beef show, hog show, bull riding contest, demolition derby, and much more!

20 - 22 Nebraska's Junk Jaunt - Junk Jaunt is a 300 mile continuous Yard Sale in central Nebraska. Each of 35-40 towns organizes a 3-day yard sale. Most towns will have at least one "Central Set-Up" location for vendors. Last year, this fun event drew 20,000 people from 32 states and 70 of 93 Nebraska counties. Always held the last Friday, Saturday & Sunday in September.

5 Cow Pie Trail Run-Walk - The Annual Cow Pie Trail Run route is a loop course traveling over gravel/dirt roads, cow paths, and the pastures of beautiful central Nebraska. The half marathon route goes through an old tree claim, beside a settler's cemetery, along an old wagon road, by windmills, and abandoned homesteads. This is the wide-open prairie of the pioneers! It is a tough course with holes, ruts, stickers, cow pies, and lots and lots of hills. But if the cows can do it, so can you!

Half Marathon begins at 9:30 a.m.
Kids Fun Run begins at 10:15 a.m.
5K begins at 10:45 a.m.

Yummy pork roast BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, chips, and homemade desserts will be served after the race followed by hayrack rides. A perfect way to celebrate Autumn!
