Lake John Wells is popular for fishing, boating, swimming, skiing, and camping, and a specialty location for boat drag racing! The 200 acre lake is a top touring location each summer for several classes of drag boats. Race times can be acquired by contacting the Stigler Chamber of Commerce.

Haskell County is rich in history. One of the most infamous female bandits in the Old West brought a lot of attention to this area. Her name is Belle Starr.
