McGee Creek Store & Cabins

Lodging - vacation / fishing cabin rentals, convenience country store. Gas, Beer, snacks, Groceries, Bait & Tackle, 4 rentals available, each has two Queen size beds, private bath room with shower unit, microwave oven air conditioning, portable electric faux fireplaces, picnic tables, outdoor grills,outside plugins for charging boats, all bedding and linens provided. We are located at the entrance to the state park.

North of Hwy 3, at front entrance to the park at the intersection of McGee Creek Lake Rd. and Bell Rd.(dirt road running in front of park property)

Butterfield Stage Line

Standing at the forefront of the old Butterfield road imagine the stage coach hustling along the old wooden fence line up the well-ridden ruts that are still visible today and coming to an abrupt halt at the rest stop. The Butterfield Overland Mail route directed its route to Boggy Depot in 1858

Prelude to a State Boggy Depot's contribution to Oklahoma outlasted all her structures, for it was the source of the state's name. Chief Allen Wright, principal chief of the Choctaw Nation, suggested the word "Oklahoma" (meaning "Red People") in 1866
