Through the conclusion of the 2004-05 season, over 2.5 million fans have come to Stingray home games for a twelve-year franchise average exceeding 180,000 fans per season. In terms of attendance, the Stingrays have consistently ranked among the top in North America for all minor league hockey teams and in the top 10 in the ECHL with a 2004-2005 per-game average of over 5,500 fans. The South Carolina Stingrays have been divisional champions 3 out of their 6 years in the East Coast Hockey League. During the 1996-97 season, the Stingrays became the first team in league history to win both the Kelly Cup (ECHL playoff champions) and Brabham Cup (regular season champions). The Rays once again battled for the best record in the league during the 1998-99 season, finishing fourth overall. The Rays became the only team in ECHL History to win the Kelly Cup twice which occured in the 2000-2001 season. Team season runs October - April. Visit website for detailed schedule information.
