Construction started on the residence in 1936, by Dr. W. Lewis Brown for his family and medical office. Dr. Brown and his family moved into the residence in 1938. Most of the original mahogany woodwork has been beautifully maintained. The structure is very much as it was when the home was built.

Silver Bridge Memorial

The Silver Bridge was built in 1928 as a toll bridge by the Gallia Bridge Company. On December 15, 1967, it collapsed killing 46 people. Two bodies, a woman and a child, were never recovered. Their names are engraved on the top beam of the new bridge.
