The Granada Theater

category : Theatres
The Granada Theater Built in 1929, it is significant as an ornate example of early twentieth century theater architecture. The elaborate Spanish Colonial Revival Style features a stucco front facade with a false ceramic tile roof, terra catta tiles and niches and arched cornice. A dominant feature is the four arched windows with Moorish columns topped with terra cotta figures of clowns. A fire damaged the interior in 1959, but the exterior remains in near-original condition as a good example of this style of architecture.

This historic theatre is undergoing extensive renovation. The marquee was restored in 2001.
