16 Bikers Save Lives Annual Benefit Ride - It is with great honor that we announce the Annual Bikers Save Lives Benefit Run. For the past few years we have joined together with Quality Collision and Topshooters to help various local charities, including Southern Illinois Hospice, USO, Leaps of Love, Illinois Center for Autism, several local children with cancer, and the Special Needs/ Special Education Programs at several Monroe County Schools. To date this great fundraiser has raised over $150,000 for these special children. We could not do any of this without the help from all the generous business’s here in Monroe County.
This year’s event will be held Saturday at Topshooters Sports Bar in Columbia. It will be a fun filled day of riding motorcycles and classic cars thru the scenic Monroe County to several fun stops along the way. Afterwards there will be a party back at Topshooters featuring food and drink specials with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity, as well as attendance prizes, big raffle drawing, 50/50, lottery board raffle, and Karaoke hosted by Brian Thompson.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Columbia School District Special Education Classrooms. The Columbia District is in the process of revamping the Special Ed Program this year after their departure from the Perando Co-op. While they are doing a fantastic job main streaming this new program, their funds are limited do to the economic problems in the state of Illinois. We plan to raise as much money possible to help them take their Special Ed Program to the next level and provide these special kids with as much help and therapy as possible.
