28 13th Annual Little Cities of Black Diamonds Day - "Miners of the Little Cities" is the theme for this year's 13th annual event that explores and celebrates the role of coal miners in this boom-to-bust mining region (1870-1925) that now is a destination for geotourists in search of history, culture and the beauty of Ohio's only national forest, the Wayne National Forest. A traveling "legacy of coal mining exhibit" from the Bob Evans Farm Museum, a registry of area miners and a one-hour documentary: "Devil's Oven: The Fire in the Heart of the Little Cities of Black Diamonds" begining at 2:30PM greet the visitor. A one-hour concert by "Rosemont Crossing" featuring music from the 1970's begins at 1PM..  The event includes living history characters, food, quilt show and a gymnasium full of exhibits featuring regional history, nature and art.
