8 - 10 Marfa Lights Festival - Celebrate the mystery with us at the Marfa Lights Festival held each Labor Day Weekend. Activities include a main street parade, food and crafts booths. Evening concerts and street dances feature local and nationally known acts. The festival is a Marfa tradition and a reunion time for former residents and natives.

27 - 28 Chinati Foundation Open House - Open House is a free, two-day festival of art, music, lectures, and meals that energizes the small town of Marfa, Texas, bringing over 1,000 tourists from all over the world to the area.

Chinati founder Donald Judd inaugurated Open House in 1987 as an annual tradition to welcome the local community as well as international art enthusiasts in a relaxed and high-spirited atmosphere.

Throughout the weekend there will be open viewing of Chinati's collection and Judd Foundation's the Block, Donald Judd's Marfa residence housing a permanent installation of his work dating from 1962-1978. Judd Foundation will also host a screening of rarely seen films about Donald Judd.
