Wright Patman Lake Parks There are nine developed park areas at Wright Patman Lake.

Clear Springs Park

Clear Springs Park consists of approximately 317 acres with development on approximately 51 acres, and is located on the north side of the lake. Access to the park is a paved road that connects to FM 2148. Existing facilities include a gatehouse, sanitary dump station, 88 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, 13 campsites without hook-ups and two restrooms with showers. A group camping shelter is available, which has 12 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, the shelter is screened in and has restrooms with showers. The park also has one group day use shelter, which is located near the beach and a restroom, and can accommodate up to 100 people. Recreational opportunities available in the park include a beach, playground, two trail systems with gravel surface, two sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pit, basketball court, and a 2-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock. The park is located on a small arm of Wright Patman Lake, which provides protection for boaters.

Rocky Point Park

Rocky Point Park is located on the eastern side of the lake and consists of approximately 297 acres with development on 52 acres. Access to the park is a paved road that connects to U.S. Highway 59. Existing facilities include a gatehouse, sanitary dump station, 115 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, 9 campsites with water, sewer, and electric hook-ups and 3 restrooms with showers. The park also has one group day use shelter, which can accommodate up to 60 people. Recreational opportunities available in the park include a beach, playground, trail system connecting to Piney Point Park, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit, basketball court, amphitheater, and a 2-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock. Many of the campsites are located along the lakeshore, which gives an outstanding view of Wright Patman Lake.

Piney Point Park

Piney Point Park is located on the eastern side of the lake and consists of approximately 163 acres with development on 22 acres. Access to the area is a paved road that connects to U.S. Highway 59. Existing facilities include a gatehouse, one sanitary dump station, 48 campsites with water and electric hook-ups with six of them having 50-amp electric service, 25 campsites without hook-ups, a restroom with showers, and a vault toilet. The park also has one group day use shelter, which can accommodate up to 100 people. Recreational opportunities available in the park include a playground, trail system connecting to Rocky Point Park, sand volleyball court, and a 6-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock.

Malden Lake Park

Malden Lake Park is located in the upper reaches of the lake along the north side and consists of approximately 68 acres with development on 19 acres. Access to the area is a paved road that connects to state highway 8. Existing facilities include a gatehouse, one sanitary dump station, 39 campsites with water and electric hook-ups of which 10 sites have 50-amp electric service, a restroom with showers, and a 2-lane boat ramp. The location of the park provides close proximity for both fisherman and waterfowl hunters to access the area where the Sulphur River flows into Wright Patman Lake.

North Shore Park

North Shore Park is located on the north side of the lake and consists of approximately 167 acres with development on 38 acres. Access to the park is a paved road that connects to FM 2148. Existing facilities include a gatehouse, a restroom with showers, and a vault toilet. The park also has one group day use shelter, which can accommodate up to 30 people. Recreational opportunities available in the park include a 60 picnic tables with upright grills, a playground, 3 sand volleyball courts, 2 horseshoe courts, basketball court, large beach, and a 4-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock and breakwater jetty.

Swimming

Wright Patman Lake has a developed swim beach at North Shore Park. Buoys and restrictive barriers are in place to delineate the swimming area and prevent boats, personal watercraft or other vessels from entering the swimming area. Therefore, it is safer to swim in the designated areas rather than other areas of the lake although lifeguards are not provided at the swim beaches. Children should always be well supervised when near the water. Purchase of a swim beach permit or possession of a valid annual pass is required for adults and children 12 years of age and older to utilize the swim beach area. The swim beach use fee of $1.00 per person, maximum of $3.00 per vehicle, is paid at the gatehouse, which is located at the park entrance. Possession of a valid camping permit issued at Lake Bardwell precludes the requirement to purchase a swim beach permit. Glass containers, cans and pets are prohibited in the swimming areas.

Swimming in the vicinity of boat launching or mooring sites is prohibited by section 327.5a of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations. Diving or jumping from bridges or other structures, which cross project waters, is also prohibited.

Intake Hill Park

Intake Hill Park consists of approximately 20 developed acres and is located on the north side of the lake. Access to the park is a paved road that connects to FM 2148. Existing recreational development consists of a vault toilet, 24 picnic tables with upright grills, lantern hangers, and fire rings. Water is available throughout the park; some camping sites have water hydrants at the camping pad. Both picnicking and camping are allowed at the park.

Oak Park

Oak Park is located on the east side of the dam and consists of 16 developed acres. Access to the area is a paved road that connects to U.S. Highway 59. Existing facilities include 26 picnic tables with upright grills, one waterborne restroom, and a sanitary dump station. . The park also has one group day use shelter, which can accommodate up to 100 people. Camping is not allowed at this park. Recreational opportunities available at the park include a sand volleyball court, baseball diamond, and swings.

Spillway Park

Spillway Park is located on the eastern shore of the lake and consists of 16 developed acres. Access to the park is a paved road that connects to U.S. Highway 59. Existing facilities include 17 picnic tables with upright grills. Camping is not allowed at this park. The park includes a large open field that provides an excellent location for flying kites and other games.

Jackson Creek Park

Jackson Creek Park is located on the southern shore of the lake and consists of approximately 60 acres with development on 8 acres. Access is via paved county roads off state highway 77. Steep shoreline slopes and steep to rolling terrain characterize the park area. Existing facilities include 10 picnic tables with ground grills and lantern hangers, one vault toilet, and a two-lane boat ramp. Camping is available at all 10 table sites. Water is available at various locations in the park. The park is located on a small arm of Wright Patman Lake, which provides protection for boaters.
