The memorials are in tribute to those veterans of the Vietnam War, Korean War, Gulf War and World War II. The memorials are the only War Memorials built in the USA by youth. Built by Boy Scouts of Troop 312 Rochelle as Eagle Projects.
The 1878 Henry School, on the Galena Trail, was used as a school until 1957. The Polo Historical Society has turned it back into an old country school which includes a hand painted stage curtain, displays of the Black Hawk War of 1832
Local history museum featuring the Lucius Read House, old barn, railroads, AG Spalding, underground railroad, and other exhibits. Annual events include festival of trees (Nov-Dec) and quilt show (July)
