Grapevine Lake Hunting

Hunting at the Elm Fork Project, U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS

Hunting permits are issued at the Lewisville Lake Project Office for both Grapevine and Lewisville Lakes. Individuals applying for a permit will need to show proof of taking the Hunting Safety Class; no exceptions. There is no charge for hunting permits. Maps of the areas are available at the project office.

General Regulations

Hunting Zones: It is the hunter's responsibility to observe property lines and be aware of the boundaries of the hunting area he or she uses. In addition, a 600 foot wide buffer strip beginning at the government property line and extending toward the lake is closed to hunting to ensure the safety of adjacent property owners.

Legal Game: Dove, quail, squirrel, rabbits, waterfowl, feral hogs (Deer at Grapevine Lake only)

Bag Limits: Bag limits are the same as those listed in the Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunting Guide.

Open Seasons: Hunting on project lands is permitted from September 1 through February 28. Legal game listed above may be hunted during the open seasons shown in the current Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunting Guide in the County Listings section and supplemental brochures. All project hunting lands are in Denton County.
