Lewisville Lake Camping The Corps of Engineers at the Elm Fork operates two campgrounds, Hickory Creek and Oakland Park, both located on Lewisville Lake. Hickory Creek is open year-round; Oakland is open between April 1st and September 30th. Both campgrounds offer campsites with water and electrical hookups, sanitary dump station facilities, boat ramps, playgrounds, and restrooms with showers. All campsites are equipped with tables, fire rings, and grills, except for ten primitive sites located in Hickory Creek Park.

Campsites can either be reserved through the NRRS, or rented on a walk-in basis depending on availability. We recommend reservations on weekends during the summer, and all major holidays. Campsites for Spring Break, Easter, Mother's and Father's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day should be reserved well in advance!

Hickory Creek Park
Hickory Creek Park is a Class A campground located in Hickory Creek, Texas on Lewisville Lake. Facilities available include:

* Camping sites with water and electrical hookups, grills and fire rings
* 10 primitive camping sites
* Playground
* Dump station
* Restrooms with showers
* Walking/Biking trail
* Shoreline access for fishing
* Swimming beach
* Amphitheater
* Ranger-conducted programs frequently held during the summer
* Gate attendant on duty during open hours
* Emergency exit gate open after 10 pm

Hickory Creek Park closes from 10 pm to 6 am. No entry into the park is permitted between the hours of 10 pm and 6 am

Campsites are available for use by walk-in and through the NRRS website, or by calling 1-877-444-6777.

The park is located off I-35 South (also known as Stemmons freeway) . After exiting the FM 2181 or Swisher Rd exit off the freeway, turn right onto Turbeville Road and then left on Point Vista. The park will be on your right. Hickory Creek is located close to restaurants, a movie theater, and grocery shopping.

Oakland Park - Oakland Park is closed between 1 October and 30 March of each year.
Oakland Park is a class A campground located in Hickory Creek, Texas on Lewisville Lake. Facilities available include:

* Camping sites with water and electrical hookups, grills and fire rings
* Pavilion with multiple RV hookup sites
* Playgrounds
* Dump station
* Restrooms with showers
* Shoreline access for fishing
* Gate attendant on duty during open hours
* Emergency exit gate open after 10 pm
* Boat ramp

Oakland Park closes from 10 pm to 6 am. No entry into the park is permitted during this time. Oakland is also located close to shopping areas, restaurants, and entertainment.

CITY OPERATED PARKS

Lake Park is operated by the city of Lewisville.

Lake Park is a massive park containing in excess of 662 acres. It is located along the Lake Lewisville shoreline just east of Mill Street; approximately three-quarters of a mile east of I-35. Lake Park is operated by the City on property leased from the Army Corps of Engineers. It can be divided into three major areas including the Lake Park Golf Course, the athletic facilities, and the lake related uses. The lake related uses with their campgrounds, beaches, docks, boat ramps and picnic facilities attract many people from all over the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.

The athletic facilities also include areas for parking, three restrooms, four concession buildings, and three picnic shelters/shade structures.

Pilot Knoll Park is a beautiful park bordering Lake Lewisville operated by Highland Village.

This 65 to 85 acres (depending on the water level) park is perfect for nature lovers, campers, hikers and anyone who likes spending time outdoors.

Overnight Camping Area includes grill, picnic table, fire ring and water hookups at each site:

*48 RV and tent campsites with 30 Amp Electrical Hookup
*9 RV and tent campsites with 50 Amp Electrical Hookup
*Grey Water Dump Station
*Restroom Facility with Showers
*Playground Area with picnic table and grill

Copperas Branch Park is operated by Highland Village.

The Copperas Branch is a great place to host a family gathering, launch your boat into Lake Lewisville or bring the kids to practice soccer or baseball.
