Situated along the shores of a 30,000-acre reservoir Ray Roberts Lake State Park Complex consists of two state park units (Isle du Bois and Johnson Branch), six satellite parks (Jordan Unit, Pond Creek, Pecan Creek, Buck Creek, Sanger, and Elm Fork), Wildlife Management Areas, wetlands, waterfowl sanctuaries and the 20 mile Ray Roberts Lake/Lake Lewisville Greenbelt Corridor. Birdwatching, water sports, riding horses or backpacking along a scenic trail, Ray Roberts has something for everyone.

Isle du Bois Unit

Camping: Applicable daily entrance fees are charged in addition to the campsite or facility fee.

- Walk-in (1/8 to 1/4 mile) developed (tent) campsites. Sites are in the Hawthorne and Wild Plum areas and have a picnic table, tent pad, fire ring and lamp post. Water is in the area, not at each site.

- Equestrian campsites with water in the area. 8 maximum per site (people & horses combined). These sites are in the Blue Stem Grove area and have a picnic table, fire ring and/or grill.Water is in the area, not at each site. There are hitching/tethering posts available at the campsites.

- Walk-in (1/4 - 1/2 mile) group campsites. Capacity is 24 people. These sites have a picnic table, tent pad, fire ring and lamp post. All camping equipment must be carried in. Water is in the area, not at each site.

- Group Picnic Pavilions. Day use only, capacity is 50 people.

Johnson Branch Unit

- Hike-in Primitive Campsites. No ground fires are permitted in this area. Sites are not reservable, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the park. This area is closed until further notice. Contact the park for more information.
$6 per 4 people.

- Walk-in (1/4 mile) developed (tent) campsites. Sites are located in either Oakpoint or Dogwood Canyon, on a first come first serve basis. Sites have a tent pad, a picnic table, a fire ring, a grill, and a lantern holder. Water is in the area but not at each site.
$12 per night.

- Campsites with electric & water hookups. Sites have picnic table, fire ring and/or grills.
$20 per night.

Group facilities


1
-Group Primitive Area. This is the "Tejas" area which is locked and located behind the park off of a county road. Capacity is 100 people. This is a 200 acre area and has lights, a gravel parking lot, picnic tables, a large fire ring, a waist high grill, and a composting toilet. No water is in the area, campers must bring their own. Users must register at the park headquarters and pick up the key for this area. This area is closed until further notice. Contact the park for more information.
$50 per night.

- Group Picnic Pavilions. Sites are day use only and capacity is 50 persons at each pavilion.
$60 per day.
