The Fells

The Fells, historic estate and gardens on Lake Sunapee was the summer home of three generations of the Hay Family. Built in 1891 by John Milton Hay, private secretary to Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of State under Presidents McKinley and Roosevelt, the property features a 22-room Colonial Revival mansion and extensive gardens; including a renowned Rock Garden, Rose Terrace, 100-foot Perennial Border and Old Garden. Historic guided tours of the House and Gardens are offered seasonally.
