  • Fairview Lift Bridge and Cartwright Tunnel

    The bridge and tunnel, now closed to vehicle and rail traffic, stretches 1,320 feet across the Yellowstone River. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places

    Named for 19 tribal chiefs of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Indian tribes, it is the longest bridge in North Dakota, spanning nearly one mile. The bridge will be replaced by 2006
