9 Trinity Ground Zero Tour - Trinity Ground Zero Tour is operated at White Sands National Monument, and features a detailed historical tour of the site of the first atomic bomb explosion. Tour occurs twice yearly on the first Saturday in April and the first Saturday in October.

10 Shroud Passion Talk - The talk will focus on the Shroud, its relation to the passion of Jesus Christ, Scripture and the writer's own journey in life including the author's presentation of his own poem on the passion event from 1985, long before he was aware there was such a relic and its implications for his own faith.

4 - 15 New Mexico State Fair - New Mexico threw itself a state fair long before it was even considered a state. How's that for bold? After 121 years in business the fair still remains the biggest event in New Mexico. Held in the heart of Albuquerque on its permanent 236-acre grounds throughout the month of September, the fair features everything under the Southwestern sun. Aside from well-known musicians, rodeos, and circus acts, you won't want to miss Valentine's Performing Pigs, demonstrations on Navajo Rug weaving and Chile Ristra making, the Goat Milking competition, the mysterious talent of hypnotists, arm wrestling contests, and the White Mountain Apache Dancers.

14 - 15 Annual White Sands Balloon Invitational - Hot air balloons launch at dawn over the gypsum dune fields of White Sands National Monument and from various locations around the City of Alamogordo; balloon glow Saturday evening features 12-15 balloons at Alamogordo High School Tiger Stadium. Launches at 7:00 a.m.; balloon glow Sat. evening at dusk

White Sands National Monument is located 15 miles west of Alamogordo on US Highway 70. To the balloon glow: Highway 54/70 to Alamogordo, head east on First Street to Alamogordo High School, corner of Cuba and First.

20 - 29 Balloon Fiesta Week - Daily traditional native dance performances by pueblo, navajo and plains dancers. Demonstrations in pottery, weaving, metalsmithing, flute making and drum making. Musical performances each weekend of the fiesta. 9 am - 5 pm.

21 - 29 International Balloon Fiesta - Make plans to come to New Mexico for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! Once a tiny gathering of 13 balloons in 1972, the fiesta has grown to become the largest balloon event in the world. You'll be one of hundreds of thousands of people who get up before dawn to watch the "Mass Ascension," close to 1,000 balloons defying gravity at once. It's nine day celebration of color and thrill honoring the world's oldest aviation sport. Don't miss the Discovery Center, an educational facility full of interactive exhibits, including a hot-air balloon basket where you can simulate flight. The historical display will show you the growth of this event over the years, the featured speakers will mesmerize you with their ballooning tales, and the tissue paper classes will teach you how to build your own hot air balloon.

Advance tickets are available now in packs of 5 as a Five Event Ticket for $20 ($5 discount). The All Event Ticket for $50, a General Parking Pass for $25 and a Preferred Parking Pass for $45 will be available soon.
