National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium

Take a historic and natural journey on the Mighty Mississippi. Five large aquariums and other exhibits let you get face to face with giant catfish and ancient sturgeon. See an eight-foot alligator along with otters, diving ducks, prehistoric paddlefish, snakes, frogs and turtles of the Mississippi River. Stroll through the wetland and working boatyard. Experience state-of-the-art theaters, river planning stream tables, living history demonstrations, and historical exhibits.

Hours: 10-6 daily Memorial Day-Labor Day, 10-5 rest of year. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
