category : Museums
Scamahorn Museum The Scamahorn Museum is the 1884 original church structure built by the Reverend Scamahorn, founder of Gordon, and his followers. It was dedicated as the First Methodist Episcopal Society in northwest Nebraska. Quilts sewn by women from the Scamahorn Colony are on display and the resource center contains catalogued factual stories and obituaries dating back to the settlement of the area.

The Scamahorn Museum has a display of the main floor that includes antique medical equipment and office furnishings, dishes, furniture, Native American beadwork, old-time photographs, perild clothing, military memorabilia from WWI and WWII, an elaborate doll house and much more.

The basement houses material that was removed from the Store of Yesteryear (predecessor to the Museum) and tells the story of the old time merchants.
