Where Special Events Happen El Dorado Lake is located just north and east of the City of El Dorado at the edge of the scenic Flint Hills. The lake has approximately 8,000 surface acres of water with 98 miles of shoreline. There are approximately 6,000 acres of land available for public hunting and approximately 4,000 acres of developed parks and recreation areas. A variety of campsites, facilities, utility hookups and several shower houses are located throughout the park area. All total nearly 1,100 capsites offer visitors the outdoor experience. Just added in the year of 2003 is the group camping. A location that can be rented out to a single group for family reunions or RV rallys. New to the Park are the two delux cabins. These cabins feature a furnished kitchen, a full bathroom with shower, a separate bedroom, and a sleeping loft. The deluxe cabins will sleep from six to ten persons.
