Chartered in 1789 with the cornerstone laid in 1793, the nation's first state university covers more than 700 acres. The Visitors' Center conducts historic campus tours Mon-Fri at 1:30 pm. Self-guided tours are available with a walkman and brochures. The tours point out many historical points of interest on the campus.
