Town of Newton Grove

The Town of Newton Grove, located at the northern end of Sampson County, was first incorporated in 1879 and again in 1935. Weeks Park provides recreation for the town and surrounding area. Bentonville Battleground, a North Carolina Historic Site and the scene of the last major confederate offensive of the Civil War, is located approximately five miles outside of Newton Grove. The town also has an annual Christmas Parade on the first Saturday in December. Independence Day is celebrated each year with a Fourth of July Celebration.
