Deshler, Nebraska

Since many people search for their family histories, the genealogy rooms in the Thayer County Museum in Belvidere are ones often visited by tourists and former citizens. There is a large file of county family names where all information that has been gleaned from various sources is placed. Several genealogists of the county are willing to help searchers gather the information they want.

Closely associated with the genealogy department are the newspaper files. Most of the newspapers of the county, many no longer in publication, have placed their files at the museum. This includes early records of the Hebron Journal, the first newspaper of the county.
