The Arts Centre - Youth Art Month Exhibit

category : Arts
The Arts Centre is proud to present the artwork of Berkeley County high school students in our Youth Art Month Exhibit. Students from Martinsburg, Musselman and Hedgesville High Schools will exhibit work in all media - including drawing, printing, and sculpture - March 4 through March 30.

According to Karen Barrett, art teacher at Martinsburg High School, this exhibit will include some very interesting sculptures which were part of an assignment on the theme of telephones. One student created a freestanding sculpture measuring 3 feet across, while another made an installation of two cardboard rooms connected by a string-and-cup play phone.

A reception for this exhibit will be held Sunday, March 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend the reception, as well as the exhibit.

The Arts Centre is located in the old Federal Post Office and Courthouse, 300 West King Street, on the corner of King Street and Maple Avenue. Operating hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
