category : Recreation
Buckner Valley Park Buckner Valley Park is located five and one-half miles west of Jetmore on Buckner Creek. The original dam site on the Buckner Creek was built through the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Due to floods in recent years, the stones have been overlaid with cement. The Buckner Valley Park remains a popular place for picnics, camping, fishing, and horseback riding. Electricity and water are available. Permission to ride beyond the lake land on private property should be acquired from landowners. Interesting riding can extend to horse thief canyon which is about three miles away.
