Horton, Kansas

Presently located at 908 First Avenue East the original structure is constructed of native stone that was quarried just east of Horton. The agency serves all four Kansas tribes, the Potawatomi reservation is located in Jackson County, the Kickapoo reservation is west of Horton in Brown County, and the Sac & Fox and Iowa reservations encompass areas in northern Brown County, Kansas And Richardson County, Nebraska. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has established programs that have enriched the lives of the Indians through improved housing conditions, health facilities, road and bridge maintenance, increased land bases, farm and construction enterprises, senior citizen activities, including lunch programs.
