Ten band line up and many family activities at FREE Smithville family event

All day on Saturday, July 28, 2007, Kansas City area Christians, churches, ministry groups, vendors and Christian musicians will converge in the Heritage District of the northland community of Smithville from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. This FREE event will feature some of the areas finest Christian music groups and a host of family activities and fun.

Dubbed, "Christian Family Day", this event is being coordinated by the Nehemiah Festival Construction Crew, which includes representatives from several area Christian businesses, churches and musicians. The Smithville Christian Family Day is FREE to the public and relies solely on volunteer services, donations, and sponsor contributions.

Dennis Lollar (Nehemiah Festival co-coordinator from Excelsior Springs, MO) said, "Christian Family Day and the Nehemiah Festival is being produced for the purpose of bringing the families and community together under the banner of unity. These will also be wholesome family events where the whole family can have fun and enjoy themselves."

David Lin, a Smithville resident and Nehemiah Festival co-coordinator said, I am excited about the opportunity to unite the Christian community and to offer a great day of free family entertainment at the Christian Family day."

Christian blues man, Jimmie Bratcher will headline the event. There will also be worship teams from River of Life and Vineyard Church sharing contemporary praise and worship. Music starts at 10:00 AM.

There will be other activities and family entertainment throughout the day to include the Joy Unlimited Clown ministry from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, a Christian Open Mic contest, appearances by Act One and Christian Youth Theater, as well as a live radio remote by the JPEG Show. The grounds open at 8:00 AM for vendor set up and the Farmer's Market.
