Wickenburg, Arizona

Take a step back in time and feel the excitement and romance of the West at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, known as "Arizona's Most Western Museum." The museum is home to one of the finest collections of Western art in the country and features exhibits that reflect the diverse cultures that have shaped the character of the desert Southwest, including the ranching, mining and guest ranch heritage of Wickenburg and the surrounding region.

Diorama Room Thousands of years of Wickenburg area history are depicted here - a "time capsule" of important people and events that helped shape today's region.

Native American Room Anasazi, Pueblo, Hopi, Navajo: these are just some of the groups of Native Americans that have made Arizona their home. See superb examples of Southwestern Indian arts, crafts, and artifacts.

Mineral Room Gold, Silver, Copper, and Turquoise were vital to the mining history of the West. See examples of these along with our dazzling collection of minerals and rocks, plus our black light exhibit.

Western Art Galleries Discover our fine collection of Western Art. Moran, Bierstadt, Catlin, Russell, Remington, Phippen, to name just a few, provide a wondrous journey through the American West. Special changing exhibitions are also displayed throughout the year.

Cowboy Gear Hays "Spirit of the Cowboy" Collection is one of the largest and finest selections of early working cowboy gear, as well as parade, wild west, movie and rodeo memorabilia ever opened to public view.

Early Street Scene Complete with a saloon, watch shop, livery stable, post office, church, barber shop, and general store.

Period Rooms Visit a turn-of-the-century Victorian home, including a parlor, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and laundry. Period clothing completes the exhibit.

Local History Gallery Temporary changing exhibits from the museum's collection are shown on a seasonal basis.

Adjacent to the Museum is a desert landscaped park that includes a life-size bronze sculpture, "Thanks for the Rain" by Joe Beeler. Picnic tables are available for your use in the park.
