Event Details

The Annual Flint Hills FolkLife Festival on the SECOND WEEKEND of June on the lawn of the historic Chase County CourtHouse. Historic Presenters in period dress demonstrate skills necessary for life on the Kansas Prairie in the 1860s/1870s. Enjoy Spinning, Weaving, Crochet, Knitting, Quilting, RopeMaking, SoapMaking, Kettle Corn, BlackSmithy, StoneMasonry, Calligraphy, HomeMade RootBeer, Gourd Banjos, Childrens' Crafts & Games, BroomMaking, A Mountain Man Encampment, Covered Wagon CookWare, CornSheller collection, Kettle Corn, BasketWeaving, Live Music and MORE Life Music; perhaps a visit from Abraham Lincoln. Plan to attend the K-177 BlueGrass Jam Session on Friday evening BEFORE the Festival, and the TallGrass Pickin' jam on Saturday evening OF the Festival at 7:30 PM.
