Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair

THIRD SATURDAY - This one-day smorgasbord of arts and crafts booths attracts more than 400 artists from 15 states and more than 40,000 shoppers to Hillsboro. This event has been rated among the top 100 arts and crafts shows in the country by Sunshine Artist magazine.

The third Saturday in September may come and go in other communities without much fanfare, but in Hillsboro, it signifies an annual event of epic proportions. The usually quiet, peaceful town is once again gearing up for the annual Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will once again cover a seven-block area of downtown Hillsboro. That may sound like a lot of space for an arts and crafts fair, but this is no average fair. Hillsboro is a relatively small community located more than an hour or so from the state's major metropolitan areas, but the attraction of the annual Arts & Crafts Fair can only be described as phenomenal. Virtually every year since the the fair began in 1969, the crowd of shoppers has steadily increased. A long-standing trademark of the Hillsboro fair, and one of the main reasons it has attracted such a loyal following, is its quality.

Parking is available with shuttle buses to the festival area. The fair also offers local food vendors - many of whom serve Dutch-German food - and a first-aid station.
