Event Details

Annual Celebration of Diversity in Hutchinson. Thursday evening, Stringer Fine Arts Center, 600 E 11th, 6:45, Movie.

Friday- 3 Point Shoot Out, Ave A Park, 6-8 p.m.; Jazz in the Park, Ave A & Main, 8 p.m.; Youth Dance, 600 W 2nd, 8-11 p.m.

Saturday - 3 on 3 basketball Tournament, 501 S Main, 7:30 a.m.; Emancipation Day Parade, 10 a.m., starting at B & Main; Picnic, noon, Stringer Fine Arts Center, 600 E 11th; Annual Car & Bike Show in honor of Eddie Tipton, noon-2 p.m.; Old School Jam, Encampment Building, Kansas State Fairgrounds, 9 p.m.-1 a.m., age 21 & up , buffet opens at 11 p.m.

Sunday - Gospel Fest & Ice Cream Social, Stringer Fine Arts600 E 11th, 3 p.m., featuring G.od A.nointed N.ew Generation, The Emancipation Youth Community Choir.

Although the Emancipation Day Celebration has its origins in the unique historic experience of Black America these events are open to people of all races to celebrate and enjoy. The public is encouraged to attend.
