Join us for the annual Halloween parade in Downtown Fort Scott as we trick-or-treat retail stores and businesses along Main Street. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Hull Experience DJ will provide festive music before and after the parade, and the actual parade will begin at 11am with hot dogs, chips and drink being served afterwards to those in costume.

Henry Laurens Call Home

This is the home of Socialist lawyer, author, and lecturer, Henry Laurens Call. Call built the first airplane west of the Mississippi River in 1908. It was called the "Girard Airship", dubbed by the townspeople as the "Mayfly" because, "it may fly!" It didn't. Call built fourteen planes in all.

Carnegie Library

The Carnegie Library was built in 1906 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Girard was the smallest city in the world to have a Carnegie Library, thanks to Miss Jane Addams, Founder of Chicago's Hull house and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931.
