5 - 15 National Pony Express Reride Across Nebraska - Riders will gallop across the state carrying personal mail and commemorative letters. Watch the riders exchange the mochila on the 96 Ranch, 2 mi S. of I-80 Exit 211, then 1 1/2 mi E.

The Pony Express began operation on April 3, 1860. The National Pony Express Association conducts a Re-Ride of the Pony Express every year, carrying mail in a mochila across the 8 states that now comprise the National Pony Express Historic Trail. This Re-Ride is undertaken in 10 days and runs 24/7, just like in 1860.

1 - 2 Gothenburg Pony Express Rodeo and Fourth of July Celebration - The Pony Express Rodeo and Mutton Busting Contest, Calf Scramble, Beer Garden, and Fourth of July Fireworks are all major attractions of this annual event, which draws visitors from across the state. 7pm nightly. Freedom Night, veterans and military invited for free.
