Duncan, Oklahoma

Enjoy the history of Duncan from the Chisholm Trail to the present by reading the sidewalk stepping stones in historic downtown Duncan. The stepping stones make a trail down the sidewalk of history, trivial information, and names of contributors. There is companion book to go along with the sidewalk so that families, former residents, and friends can take a stroll down memory lane. The new sidewalks were dedicated at a Sidewalk Celebration on December 4, 1999.

Walking tours available by calling Main Street; self-guided tour maps available at Main Street merchants.

On The Chisholm Trail Statue

Oklahoma's largest bronze sculpture (16' high and 35" long) stands in Duncan, adjacent to the museum. The sculpture shows a chuch wagon followed by longhorn cattle on the move northward. Cowboys are intent on the herd. Of interest to young observers is the trail dog trotting alongside.
