3 Spring Open House at the Museum - The Historical Collections of Grundy County is hosting their annual spring open house on Sunday from 1:30pm-3:30pm. A special presentation will be given by "The Barn Quilt Guy" at 2pm. Danny Steiber will share his story of the history of the underground railroad movement and the development of Barn Quilts, 15 of which carried a special message to slaves traveling thru Iowa in the 1800's on their quest to freedom. This program has been viewed by over 5,000 attendees at 130 sites in Iowa in the last 36 months. The Grundy County Heritage Museum is jointly operated by the Historical Collection of Grundy County and the Grundy County Conservation Board. This event is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Refreshments will be served.
