Bears the traditional Spanish name for the Texas High Plains. Regional museum emphasizing the development of the geographical area of the Llano Estacado. In chronological order, maintains 80 exhibits decsribing the geological, prehistoric, cultural and economic development of the region. Housed in the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Regional Heritage Center, on 8th St. behind Wayland Baptist University's campus.
