10 Annual Pawhuska Trout Derby - Anglers will have a chance to reel in a mid-sized trout that carries a whopping $10,000 prize, sponsored by the Million Dollar Elm Casino. The derby prizes will go to those who land the three heaviest fish and the three heaviest stringers. Other trout will be tagged with awards of $50 and up. Fee to enter is $20 and anglers must have Oklahoma fishing and trout licenses and follow all state and derby regulations. Lake Pawhuska is annually stocked with 30,000 rainbow trout during trout season. Food concessions will also be on hand for the event.

12 National Indian Taco Championships - The Osage Nation is excited to announce their newest and tastiest event, the Annual National Indian Taco Championship, 10 AM to 4 PM located in Downtown Pawhuska, OK. To celebrate our new beginnings we have added the new category of "Dessert Indian Taco"�.

About our competition - There are two categories: the Classic or Traditional Indian Taco and the Dessert Indian Taco. Those entering The Classic or Traditional Indian Taco contest must include the following ingredients: Fry bread, Meat (also accepted Buffalo, Beefalo, lamb, venison or pork); Lettuce, Tomato, Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, and Green Chilis (optional). The Dessert Indian Taco has no ingredient requirements or restrictions; however, it must include fry bread; fried or baked. Competitors please be creative, take risks, use seasonings that are unusual, top the Indian Taco with the unthinkable; whatever it takes to create a unique and of course, delicious Indian Taco. What we don't want is to count calories, fat grams, and carbohydrates!

Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st Place $1,500; 2nd Place $1,000; and 3rd Place $500.

You say you're more of an eater than a competitor, then come hungry and come prepared to feast on the best Indian Tacos, anywhere. Registration

Winners will be required to release their recipes to the Osage Nation for promotional purposes. 8 - 10 Cattlemens Convention - Annual gathering that includes ranch tours, a barbecue and dance, and the Ben Johnson Memorial Steer Roping event on Sunday. Open to the public.

10OK0311039e002 - Pawhuska Ben Johnson Steer Roping Contest - This event is held annually in Pawhuska during Father's Day Weekend and draws the best of steer ropers in the nation. This contest is sure to interest even the most 'city-bound' spectator. The event is held in conjunction with the Osage County Cattlemen's Convention. Pawhuska is the hometown of the late Ben Johnson, Jr. and for many years he would come back to the steer roping contest named in his honor. Convention: Friday and Saturday. Roping, Sunday.

4 - 9 International Round-up Clubs Cavalcade - THIRD WEEKEND, ANNUAL - The International Cavalcade boasts being the World's Largest Amateur Rodeo. Activities include a street dance, rodeo performances, a parade, queen's contest and lots of family fun in Pawhuska.

30 - 1 Osage County Fair - The Osage County Fair includes a 4-H livestock show, fair exhibits, talent show, craft show, flea market, various contests, games and rides for young kids, a horse show on Friday evening and a ranch rodeo on Saturday evening.

6 - 7 High Frontier Rocket Launch - Fun for children of all ages. Tulsa Rocketry Club and Tulsa Astronomy Club join the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce to host this annual event full of educational entertainment. Over 100 rockets are built and launched each day of this event and can be purchased on site. Sat-Sun 9am-5pm.
