The Overland Park-based Nartan Academy of Dance has been very busy this summer. Last weekend they performed traditional Indian dances at the Ethnic Enrichment Festival in Kansas City, Missouri, and soon they will be performing in Lansing, Kansas. The Carnegie Arts Center and the Lansing Education Foundation have partnered with the Nartan Academy of Dance to bring you Tandav to Tarangam - A Night of Traditional Dance from India. The program will take place on September 11, 7:00pm, at the Lansing District Auditorium, 220 Lion Lane, Lansing, Kansas. The VIP reception will begin at 5:30pm. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. VIP tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and include both the dance performance and the VIP reception.

Tandav to Tarangam features a variety of the traditional dances of India with beautiful sculpturesque poses and jathis (footworks). The VIP reception taking place prior to the dance program will include heavy hors d'ouvres - vegetable pakora, chicken masala, mint and tamrind chutneys, and more - from Paradise India. The VIP reception also includes a musical performance by Brian Frantz Scott on the sitar and Clark Jamieson on the tabla, and henna by Fatema Mukkadam.

Join us at Tandav to Tarangam! It promises to be a wonderful evening!
