category : Other Attractions
Outdoor Dramas - 2007 Schedule.

Each performance begins at 8:30 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater.

The Aracoma Story: June 19, 21, 23, 27, 29, & July 3, 5 & 7.

The Aracoma Story, set in the beautiful hills of Appalachia, is an eternal and touching story of love and a dramatic account of a culture fighting for survivial in a rapidly changing world.

Based on historical facts and local legend, the drama unfolds as a wise old mountain man weaves the tragic tale of Aracoma, daughter of Shawnee Chief Cornstalk, and her ill-fated love for Boling Baker, a British soldier captured by her father. Be a witness to the rich dramatic history of this beautiful area and one of the most enduring legends of all time.

Lil' Abner: June 20, 22, 26, 28, 30, & July 4 & 6.

The curtain opens on "A Typical Day" in Dogpath, USA where the motley and lovable characters who inhabit this burgh introduce themselves to the audience. It only takes a moment to see that leisure time is at the heart of the local economy and drinking Kickapoo Joy Juice, fishing, and the popular Sadie Hawkins Day Dance are the favorite pastimes for Dogpatch's inhabitants. A change in the wind because the government has completed a study finding Dogpatch to be "the most unnecessary, no-account" place in the whole country, thereby setting the stage for evacuation of the town so that atomic testing can take place. Oh no! A solution must be found - something that proves their town is a "necessary" place after all. Can the town be saved? Join us and see.

Honkey Tonk Angels: July 31, & August 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17 & 18.

Come with us on a rollicking and touching journey which celebrates the woman's voice in country music through the years from the classics of Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, and Kitty Wells, up to the contemporary favorites by the likes of Dolly Parton and Pam Tillis. Experience these great songs through the eyes of three country gals who meet on a bus while on their way to Nashville following the "Music City Dream" and become a popular singing group. Romance, husband problems, independence and a little gospel thrown in for good measure result in a thrilling theatrical mixture of laughter, friendship and maybe a tear or two.

CHILDREN'S COUNTRY CAROUSEL Pre-show will begin at 7:45pm each night prior to the start of The Honky Tonk Angels.

Advance tickets are $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and $5.00 for children 12 and under.

Tickets at the Gate: $10.00 for adulds, $8.00 for seniors and $5.00 for children age 12 and under.
