Zoo-Wide BioBlitz

Event Details
What’s a Bioblitz? A bioblitz is an event at which a group of volunteers get together to find and identify as many different native plants and animals as possible in a given area.
Join us on Sunday to participate in a zoo-wide bioblitz and become a community scientist for the day! Learn how you can participate in science by posting your wildlife observations to iNaturalist, a community database that scientists use to save wild animals and wild places. Practice your powers of observation as you explore the Zoo during our Bioblitz event; where we will try to find as many local wildlife species as we can!
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Identification skills are not necessary. We will upload our observations to the iNaturalist app, which will help you identify the species you find.
This event is free with paid Zoo admission. Advance registration is not required.
Reid Park Zoo Education Staff will be in the Zoo Welcome Plaza from 12:30-2:30 to help and answer questions.
