20 Annual Main Street BBQ & Bluesfest - Downtown Washington, Inc. is proud to present the Annual Main Street BBQ & Bluesfest, to be held in the historic downtown district the fourth weekend in April. This is a family-oriented event with a professional BBQ competition and live Blues music.

Enjoy music and a full food court throughout the weekend. Friday features the Kid’s Q competition! If your child is 5-15 years old and likes to grill, sign them up! It is open to both BBQ teams and to the public. The night also features the “Anything But” side competition for BBQ teams, in which they can enter any food item cooked on a grill that does not include meat as the main ingredient.

On Saturday, come to our annual BBQ competition, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. 50 teams will be competing for the title of Grand Champion, with trophies, ribbons and cash prizes for the winners. From 2-4pm, a BBQ tasting event will be open to the public, in which each team will be competing for the title of People’s Choice. Only $7 to sample BBQ from each team!

17 Annual Art Fair & Winefest - The Annual Downtown Washington Fine Art Fair & Winefest will be held in historic downtown Washington the third weekend in May. This unique festival in the heart of Missouri wine country draws visitors each spring from across the Midwest.

Over 60 wines from Missouri wineries will be poured for tasting, and knowledgeable winery representatives will be on hand to talk about their products at this, the largest all-Missouri winery tasting event. All wines poured in tasting will be available for sale, with a 10% discount on case purchases, mix or match. Participating wineries this year include Adam Puchta Winery, Augusta Winery, Bias Winery, Blumenhof Winery, Crown Valley Winery, La Dolce Vita Winery, Montelle Winery, Mount Pleasant Winery, Oak Glenn Winery, Robller Vineyards, St. James Winery, Stone Hill Winery, Summit Lake Winery and Tower Rock Winery.

Complimentary cheese and crackers are provided in the tasting area under the wine tent, with a variety of snacks and gourmet foods on sale in the park. Admission to the wine tasting is $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and includes a souvenir wineglass. Visitors to the wine tasting area will also have the opportunity to win a special wine basket prepared by a participating winery. Hours are: 5-10 PM Friday; Noon-10 PM Saturday; and Noon-5 PM Sunday.

There will be continuous entertainment throughout the weekend while patrons can sit under the rest tent to enjoy the atmosphere, the music and the wine.

Downtown Washington, Inc. also proudly presents the Annual Art Fair (formerly sponsored in part by the Mid-Missouri Fine Arts Society). Held adjacent to the wine tasting pavilion, the Art Fair is a juried selection of over 50 Mid-western artists featuring exhibitions and sales. Admission is free and hours are Friday 5-8 PM; Saturday 10-8 PM; and Sunday 11-4 PM.

17 Gear Head Grape Stomp Classic Car and Truck Show - Enter your classic car or truck in the Gear Head Grape Stomp Classic Car and Motorcycle Show. Registration will be open from 9am - 12 noon with a cost of $20.00. The event will be held rain or shine at the SFB parking lot (corner of Cedar St. and Main St.) in beautiful Downtown Washington. Awards will be given at 4pm and this year we are hosting the Inaugural Ladies Choice Award presented by Mayor Sandy Lucy.

This event is held in conjunction with the Annual Art Fair and Wine Fest hosted by Downtown Washington, Inc. All proceeds benefit Grace's Place Franklin County Crisis Nursery. 20 - 22 Fall Festival of the Arts and Crafts - The Fall Festival of the Arts and Crafts is a family-friendly event that features over 80 artists and crafters. Products they sell range from jewelry and soy candles to pottery and wood furniture. One factor that makes our event unique is that we only allow goods that are handmade by the artist/crafter selling them at the event. The event also features live entertainment, a full food court and a free children's area.
