23 Annual Spring Golf Classic - The Spring Golf Classic at Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course, which attracts up to 288 golfers, is an excellent opportunity for sponsors to become a part of one of the Cedar Valley's premier golf tournaments. 4 Waterloo Fireworks Festival - The Waterloo Jaycees Fireworks Festival is one of the few community-based fireworks displays in the Cedar Valley. With no admission fee, the Fireworks Festival has drawn up to 20,000 people to downtown Waterloo and encourages festival attendees of all ages, socioeconomic statuses, and backgrounds to come together in one location to celebrate our countries independence.

The Fireworks Festival is a community event that enhances life in the Cedar Valley and strives to bring the entire community together. This annual festival is held on the first Saturday in July each year and features entertainment, food vendors, beverages and a beer garden. A rain-date on Sunday is in place just in case bad weather persists.

The Waterloo Jaycees have been involved with coordinating the Fireworks Festival since at least 1995. At that time the festival was a collaboration with now Main Street Waterloo. In 2002 the Waterloo Jaycees became the sole organization in charge of planning and implementing the festival. Known as one of the largest fireworks displays in Eastern Iowa, the event is completely run and staffed by volunteers and is the second largest project run by the Waterloo Jaycees.

5IA0503020e071 - Waterloo Impact Pro Wrestling & National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum Fan Fest and Show: Waterloo, Iowa! - Please join the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum as it celebrates the 2011 George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, starting Friday, July 22, 2011.

As in the past, Impact Pro Wrestling, a local independent pro wrestling promotion, will have a wrestling show starting at 7:00 PM. The doors will open at 5:30 PM.

The event will be held at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center, which is located at 205 W. 4th St. in downtown Waterloo, Iowa.

Starting at 5:30pm, we will feature a meet and greet with pro wrestling legends: Jim Ross, Terry Funk, Gerald Brisco, Danny Hodge, Larry Henning, Baron Von Raschke, Bob Roop and many more legends.

WWE Legend "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan will be wrestling on the show.

21 Touch-a-Truck - Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls (JLWCF) will be hosting their first annual "Touch a Truck" event on Saturday from 10am until 4pm at the River Loop Expo Plaza in Waterloo.

Get up close and personal with over 20 vehicles including a police car, dump truck, John Deere tractor, race car and many more! Food vendors, raffle prizes, and a variety of children's entertainment will also be a part of this family-friendly event. There is no additional charge for to participate in the children's activities.

Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door. Advanced tickets are available by contacting the JLWCF office at (319) 232-8687 or jlwcf@jlwcf.org. Proceeds for this event go towards fulfilling the Junior League mission. For over 60 years, The Junior League of Waterloo-Cedar Falls has sought to improve life in the Cedar Valley. 11 Freaky Friday 'Loo featuring 'Urband Legend" - “Freaky Friday ‘Loo” with Live Music by Great “Urban Legend” Band


If you like “Friday ‘Loo” in the Park, then you will love it after DARK! Join all of the ghosts, goblins and zombies for a thrilling night as Main Street Waterloo presents “Freaky Friday ‘Loo” featuring “Urban Legend”, on Friday, October 28, on the main floor of the Blacks Building at 501 Sycamore Street in downtown Waterloo.

The Party will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature live music, dancing, a costume contest, cash prizes, and lots of creepy surprises. Food will be provided by Newton’s Café and adult beverages, including a “witches brew” will be available for purchase. Costumes are optional and there is no cover charge for this spine-tingling event.

The featured band “Urban Legend”, a classic rock 'n roll cover band playing favorites from the 70's and 80's, will be playing lots of Halloween music including Michael Jackson’s famous song “Thriller” with some dancing zombies as well! The event is a fundraiser for Main Street Waterloo to make up for all of the Friday ‘Loo rainout losses this summer.
