Wenden, Arizona is a small town with an interesting history. Located in La Paz County in the western part of the state, the town was founded in 1888 and named after Albert Wenden, a local miner. Originally a railroad town, Wenden had several businesses that served miners, ranchers and railroad workers. Today, it has a population of just over 500 people, mostly agricultural workers and retirees.

Despite its small size, Wenden offers a variety of recreational activities for locals and visitors. Wenden is known as the "GATEWAY TO ALAMO LAKE," one of Arizona's best bass lakes. It's a great spot for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and camping.
