Campers are accommodated with developed facilities in nine separate parks surrounding the lake, which include Canning Creek Cove, Custer Park, Kansa View, Kit Carson Cove, Marina Cove, Neosho Park, Outlet Channel, Richey Cove, and Santa Fe Trail. There are 172 campsites total, 142

Council Grove Fishing

The lake has a combination of steep rocky shoreline and shallow mudflats. Two good fishing streams, Munkers Creek on the east and the Neosho River on the west, feed the lake.

The Wildlife and Parks public hunting lands are marked with license-plate sized "Public Hunting" signs. Primary entrances are also marked with large "Wildlife Area" entrance signs.
