Event Details

Activities at the annual Safari Film Festival begin Friday evening with The African Queen Bogey and Hepburn in Technicolor!

Thanks to Jane Brophy and the Chanute Area Chamber of Commerce and Office of Tourism a petting zoo returns to the east side of the depot on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also, artisans including Robyn Z of KS Yardbirds and weaver Anne Neff will be doing demonstrations Saturday morning in the depot lobby beginning at 11 a.m.

The film festival continues with Saturday afternoon matinees presented at the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum. At 1:30 p.m. The Roots of Heaven…1958 Errol Flynn – Orson Welles – Trevor Howard.

The Saturday night feature will be Excerpts & full episodes of Osa Johnson’s Big Game Hunt, which was the first Wildlife Documentary series on US TV!
