|13 - 18||31st Annual Quilt Fair and Workshops - More than 400 beautiful quilts hang full length for this spectacular 6-day Quilt Show in spacious Founders Hall at Sauder Village. It's always a brand new kaleidoscope of color, pattern, size, and design since once a quilt has been exhibited it cannot be re-entered into this popular show. Quilting demonstrations, hands-on activities and plenty of shopping opportunities at Threads of Tradition Quilt Shop add to the events of this fun-filled week. Louisa Smith, a quilt artist, author and teacher will be our guest for this special week at Sauder Village. |22||Gospel Music Concert - Beautiful gospel music will fill the air as talented musicians take the stage during the annual Gospel Music Concert at Sauder Village. Pianist Jim Stewart will open each show followed by "The Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet". They are sure to provide a show-stopping performance. Identical concerts will be held at 1:00 and 4:00 in Founder's Hall.|
|5||Focus on Fiber Arts - Have you ever wondered how a sheep's wool was transformed into your favorite sweater or warm wooly mittens? Join us at Sauder Village as artisans gather to demonstrate and share their love of fiber arts. "Focus on Fiber Arts" shows how the wool is taken off a sheep's back and turned to cloth. Our spinners and weavers demonstrate all the steps involved in this process. This year we have invited fiber arts groups to come in and join our own spinners and weavers in demonstrations on spinning and different types of weaving, natural dying of fibers and other similar activities. Guests will be able to watch spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting and tatting demonstrations throughout the day. There will also be fiber exhibits, looms and spinning wheels on display, hands-on activities and wool felting and dyeing demonstrations. |4||Fiddle Contest and Summer on the Farm - The smell of fried chicken and homemade pie; the sight of children playing games in the yard; the taste of homemade ice cream; the sound of toe-tapping fiddle playing; the feel of soft biscuit dough between your fingers. A visit to Sauder Villages Summer on the Farm and Fiddle Contest will engage all of your senses in one memorable afternoon! This annual event focuses on farm life of the early 20th century. Guests not only get to watch history reenacted, they get to experience it first hand through many activities and demonstrations planned for the day. Visitors can do everything from helping to make ice cream, butter, and rope, to participating in a spelling bee, washing on a scrub board and flailing wheat. There are so many activities going on that you may just feel you really have traveled back in time! In Founders Hall, seats will be filling by 12:30 as the opening band takes the stage followed by the toe-tapping youth fiddle competition and finally some of the best adult fiddlers in the tri-state region.|

28th Annual Archbold Carp Festival & Art in the Park
- Come join us as we celebrate summer in Archbold with our annual Carp Festival. Start Thursday by strolling down quaint streets while shopping our local retailers' "Inside/Outside" sales. Friday, enjoy many activities including the Lion's Club annual Jonah's Fish Fry! Wake up early Saturday to the 5K Run for the Lights and volleyball tournaments.
And don't miss "Art in the Park". This full day of live entertainment, great food, children's area and more than 50 Artists and crafters, all in Archbold's Ruihley Park, makes your trip to Archbold complete. There's something for everyone at the Carp Festival!

|2 - 3||Explore The Crafts - Everyday at Sauder Village, guests watch in amazement as the potter skillfully turns a lump of clay into a beautiful vase, the cooper creates a wooden bucket or the basketmaker weaves both beautiful and functional baskets. During the Explore the Crafts event guests to the Historic Village will be encouraged to take that experience one step further. Visitors will have the opportunity to try their hands at various crafts throughout the Village, meet with guest craftsmen as well as visit with the craftspeople who have their shops at the living-history village. Many of the activities will provide a brief glimpse of what is actually involved in creating a finished product. Try weaving a few rows on a loom, take a turn at helping to hand stitch a broom or try shaping clay on a potter's wheel. All those who come will leave these areas with a better understanding of what our ancestors went through to create a finished product.|
|17 - 18||Annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show & Sale - Some never stop smiling. Some never have a hair out of place. Some have eyes that have a mischievous twinkle and others the face of innocence. But whatever the expression, it seems safe to say that dolls have a way of capturing the hearts of little girls and big girls. Whether fashioned from corn husk or fine china, dolls throughout history have become precious to the beholder. A special guest doll artist will be at the Village for the weekend to sign dolls and talk with collectors. In addition, Founders Hall will be filled with dealers coming with antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears, and modern collectibles as well as accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books and patterns. There will be workshops and other special activities held throughout the weekend - details will be posted online in January!|
|28 - 31||Traditional Rug Hooking Exhibition - A craft originating for practical purposes over 150 years ago has blossomed into an amazing modern-day expression of creativity. Using the same techniques as long ago, simple strips of wool fabric and burlap backings are transformed into beautiful works of art that can be enjoyed by all. For five days in August, an exhibit of Traditional Hooked Rugs will be on display in Founders Hall at Sauder Village. The exhibit, now in its tenth year, has been referred to as one of the best exhibits of traditional hooked rugs in the country. Rug hookers from more than ten states will be contributing their pieces for the display and a rug hooking retreat and workshops are available for those wanting to learn more about this craft. Polly Minick will be our guest artist for this special event. There will also be rug hookers demonstrating throughout the week as well as vendor booths to purchase supplies. |7||Barbershop Sing & Vintage Base Ball Game at Sauder Village - Barbershop music and baseball are two American originals that are fun for all ages to enjoy at Sauder Village! Enjoy identical barbershop concerts in Founders Hall at 1:00 and 4:00. During the afternoon, the Great Black Swamp Frogs from Toledo and the Ohio Village Muffins of Columbus will take the field for the annual Sauder Village Vintage Baseball Game. Using rules from the late 19th century and wearing period uniforms, the teams play the game as it was originally created. After the game, youngsters from the audience will be encouraged to try hitting the ball and running bases|
|7 - 11||Apple Butter Making Week - The scent of apples and spices mixed with wood fires and falling leaves signals a change of season and the annual Apple Butter Making festival at Sauder Village in Archbold. For the 31st consecutive year, guests can watch as we boil the cider down, add the thinly sliced apples and then cook them in copper kettles over an open fire. There will be plenty of other extra apple-related activities going on throughout the Historic Village as well as apple treats for sale in our Bakery, Sweet Shoppe and Barn Restaurant.|
|18||All Aboard - Trains at Sauder Village - The importance of trains in Northwest Ohio is the focus of a new event at Sauder Village. The day's activities will include displays of various sized model trains, railroad lectures and telegraphy demonstrations in the Depot.|
|25||Fall on the Farm - Family fun awaits visitors young and old as Sauder Village celebrates Fall on the Farm! Guests will have the opportunity to take a step back in time and help prepare the farm for the winter ahead. From making noodles and butter to decorating pumpkins, exploring a straw tunnel, watching farming demonstrations, participating in a spelling bee or enjoying the Harvest Home Festival in the church... there are special activities for all to enjoy.|
|9 - 10||Woodcarvers' Show & Sale at Historic Sauder Village - Late October brings falling leaves, crisp afternoons and the traditional Woodcarvers' Show and Sale at Sauder Village. This special weekend is filled with family fun, unique artistry and traditional down-on-the-farm activities. The highlight of the 2-day event is the Woodcarvers' Show and Sale in Founder's Hall featuring skilled carvers showcasing everything from delightful caricatures and Santas to pins and pens. Special guest carver Peter Ortel will be on hand throughout the weekend and will demonstrate his skills. There are also vendor tables offering a variety of carving supplies and woodcarving demonstrating throughout the weekend. Wes Linenkugal will also be in Founder's Hall to entertain guests during this fun-filled weekend. On Saturday only in the Historic Village we will be demonstrating how the early settlers prepared for winter with hog butchering and other food preservation demonstrations|
