Most of the buildings making up the Fredonia Downtown Square were built in the late 1800's & early 1900's. Though some have been altered, many still retain much of their original character.... Built in 1872, the Stone House was one of Fredonia's early residences and is a State of Kansas Historic Site. Today, it is the home of the Fredonia Arts Council.
