6 Louis J. Lorimier Memorial World Famous Downtown Golf Tournament - First ever downtown golf tournament. 4 Libertyfest - Join the excitement of fireworks, patriotic music and children's activities in historic downtown Cape. 4 Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival - View an aerial tribute to our U.S. Veterans, a variety of warbirds, military aircraft, demonstrations, civilian aerobatics and much more. 21 - 28 Southeast Missouri District Fair - Don't miss the 151st edition of this longest running family event in the Heartland. The fair plays host to 100,000 people annually. From the midway operated by the Lowery Family Carnival to the music found all over the fairgrounds there is something for everyone.

This year's Kids Zone features free face painting, free farm fun station, free arts activities, and so much more.

Scheduled to appear at the grandstand will be the crowd pleasing Dual Demo Derby with a move to a new night on Tuesday.

There will be two nights of Outlaw Tractor and Truck Pulling on both Saturday and Monday.

Wednesday evening will see the return of the 6th edition of the River Radio/SEMO District Fair Heartland Idol Star Search. Thursday evening, September 14th, country music legend Ronnie Milsap will be performing. Friday, September 15th, country star Josh Gracin will entertain and on Saturday, September 16th, American Idol rock star Bo Bice will rock the crowd as he rounds out this year's musical entertainment.

More free stuff around the fairgrounds include Marcos the Magnificent strolling magician, Tropical Illusion Family Theatre, Woody's Menagerie Wildlife Educational Exhibit, Musical entertainment at the activities tent, livestock, horticulture, floriculture, homemaking, crafts, and commercial exhibits in the Arena Building, 4-H exhibit building, fireworks, etc.

2 - 5 Missouri Trappers Association Fall Rendezvous - Gathering of modern day trappers, with suppliers and dealers, demonstrations about trapping, skinning and fur handling. Live bluegrass music and a fish fry on Friday night and a pig roast on Saturday. There will also be contests for men, women and children on Saturday followed up with a benefit auction on Saturday night. The public is invited and there are no admission fees.

18 Tour de Cape - Sponsored by the Evening Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau. Bicycle Tour that will be a fun ride for everyone. Choose from 100 mi, 62 mi, 30 mi, 15 mile routes. Routes are clearly marked and there are several rest stops with food and fluids for refueling. Whichever tour you choose, be prepared for beautiful scenery and the opportunity to cycle with some wonderful people.
