19 - 20 When Pigs Fly Indoor BBQ Bash - World's Largest Indoor BBQ Competition! Enter your BBQ team online by visiting the website. We don’t care if you are a professional BBQ competition team or just a group of friends that cook darn good barbecue. Apply and Spread the Word! There will be entertainment during the day. Between sets we will have cooking classes and demonstrations going on the stage. Lounge back in our Backyard Biergarten or start your own competition with some backyard games. Bring the whole family and have some fun!

Friday - VIP Night - Happy Hour starts at 5:30pm with dinner beginning at 6:30pm.

Join us for an elegant backyard BBQ Pre-Party. You will be served a brisket dinner with sides and dessert. Mingle with the teams that will be competing on Saturday. There will be a special cooking demonstration done during the night.

Witness 24 teams competing head-to-head in two categories: Pork Steaks and Ribs. Who will win? You be the judge (purchase one of the add on judging plates). Also, watch as 4 teams of local Fire, Police, Highway Patrol and County Sheriff compete for the HEROES CUP! One will come out a Champion but they are all heroes in our hearts.

30 Libertyfest - Join the excitement of fireworks, patriotic music and children's activities in historic downtown Cape. The festivities will begin at 6:30 and continue to entertain children and adults of all ages until the Spectacular Fireworks finale on the Mississippi River at 9:30 pm. 7 - 14 Southeast Missouri District Fair - Don't miss the 151st edition of this longest running family event in the Heartland. The fair plays host to 100,000 people annually. From the midway operated by the Lowery Family Carnival to the music found all over the fairgrounds there is something for everyone.

This year's Kids Zone features free face painting, free farm fun station, free arts activities, and so much more.

There will be two nights of Outlaw Tractor and Truck Pulling on both Saturday and Monday.

More free stuff around the fairgrounds include Marcos the Magnificent strolling magician, Tropical Illusion Family Theatre, Woody's Menagerie Wildlife Educational Exhibit, Musical entertainment at the activities tent, livestock, horticulture, floriculture, homemaking, crafts, and commercial exhibits in the Arena Building, 4-H exhibit building, fireworks, etc.

Tickets for all events, gate admissions, and season passes will be available beginning July 19th at the fairgrounds ticket office.

28 Tour de Cape - Sponsored by the Evening Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau. Bicycle Tour that will be a fun ride for everyone. Choose from 100 mi, 62 mi, 30 mi, 15 mile routes. Routes are clearly marked and there are several rest stops with food and fluids for refueling. Whichever tour you choose, be prepared for beautiful scenery and the opportunity to cycle with some wonderful people.

29 - 30 Annual Downtown Holiday Open House - The Annual Downtown Holiday Open House two-day event will take place on Friday from 5 – 9 p.m. AND Saturday from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., and will feature a chance to win a #DowntownCG shopping spree!! This family-friendly open house event will include live caroling throughout downtown, pictures with Santa and the Grinch, children’s activities in Santa’s Workshop and, horse-drawn carriage rides, an outdoor Christmas market, and participating businesses will be decorated and waiting for you with holiday merchandise, in-store deals, and special events!

30 Annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar - Old Town Cape, Inc. will once again host the Holiday Bazaar that will take place on Saturday during day two of the Annual Downtown Christmas Open House. 10 am – 3 pm.

The Old Town Cape Holiday Bazaar will feature vendors that offer locally grown, handcrafted, and homemade products such as winter produce, baked goods, candies, and artisan crafts.
