3 - 5 Annual Tri-Peaks Challenge - Do you crave adventure? Here it is. The Tri-Peaks Challenge, hosted by local cyclists, is a 3-day bike race encompassing Arkansas's three river valley peaks. The race will pass over Petit Jean Mountain, Mount Magazine, and end on Mount Nebo.

12 Mount Nebo 5K Run - All ages are welcome and everyone is encouraged to participate in this short run on top of the mountain. The run will be followed by a short awards ceremony in the large pavilion. The swimming pool will open for the summer immediately following this ceremony. For details, check out arkansasrunner.com or call the park. Volunteers are needed to help with the race. Call the visitor center to sign up! 9 am - 12 pm

21 67th Mt. Nebo Chicken Fry - The purpose of the annual festival is to promote the poultry industry which is the largest industry and job provider in our area. The public, as well as vendors are invited to celebrate the industry through socialization, competitions and of course, chicken dinners. There will be events such as: car and bike show, power wheels race, horseshoe tournament, chicken race, chicken calling contest and Mr. Lovely Legs competition. 26 Paint the River Purple - 2 live bands, raffles, belly dancing, antique cars, fingernail and face painting, bump n jump, food and drinks, and much more fun family events. All proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Network.
